Even if you are NOT interested in Japanese music, PLEASE try this.  This Monkey Majik is Canadian Band in Japan but when they sing in Japanese they moves our heart.
Yoshida brothers are Shamisen player

A shamisen is a three-stringed instrument similar to a banjo. It is believed that the origin of it was an Okinawan three-stringed instrument called the "sanshin" which originated in China.
It was introduced to Japan in the 16th century where the body was made with the skin of cats or dogs instead of snake skin which was hard to get.
Silk thread is used for the strings which are of varying thickness.
It is played with a plectrum and used as an accompaniment to bunraku, kabuki and folk songs.
